It's always a good idea to think about what songs you would like the band to play and when. You can of course leave this all up to the band leader but many like to get involved in the music choices for their affair and it's always best to prepare in advance and not leave it to the last minute. It can sometimes take some time to either dig up a piece of music as well as have it written up if need be. If you have a song selection you want played by your Chupa, it's best to get a copy of that music piece and send it to the band leader as soon as you can.
It's best to find out if the band can read music especially if you have original pieces or sheet music you want played. If the music is very intricate ( i.e. a full score) you may want to consider running a rehearsal an hour or so before the affair.
Once you have picked out your likes and dislikes for the music of your affair, your band leader can get down to the business of making it a very memorable one.
